QA Manager – Quality Engineering, Test Automation & Release Management
Hands-on QA leadership role driving automation, release quality, and enterprise SaaS excellence. Lead a talented team and shape quality at production scale.
We are looking for an experienced QA Manager (12+ years) to lead quality engineering for our enterprise SaaS product, operating as a multi-tenant platform in production and built on a modern, distributed, cloud-native stack.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining test automation, quality engineering, release management, and enterprise client engagement. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and clients to improve product quality, release predictability, and customer confidence.
The role offers significant ownership and visibility within a production-scale, multi-tenant SaaS environment undergoing active architectural evolution.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & Quality Engineering
Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks using Cucumber (BDD), Playwright, REST Assured, and Postman.
Own functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test coverage across the product's application, API, serverless, database, SDK, and data-processing layers.
Write and review maintainable Gherkin scenarios and automation code.
Validate data integrity, database schemas, data pipelines, and large-scale processing workflows.
Establish and maintain performance/load testing for enterprise workloads.
Continuously increase automation coverage and reduce dependency on manual regression testing.
Drive root-cause analysis and systemic improvements for production defects.
Team & Quality Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA engineers.
Define QA standards, automation practices, test strategies, and quality gates.
Embed shift-left testing across requirements, development, and delivery.
Review test plans, automation code, and release quality metrics.
Release Management
Own the QA/release process end-to-end, including release planning, regression, readiness assessment, and go/no-go recommendations.
Coordinate release readiness across Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA.
Ensure appropriate staging validation, rollback planning, and release risk assessment.
Work with DevOps to maintain CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated test suites into release workflows.
Monitor post-release stability and coordinate hotfix validation when required.
Client Engagement
Act as the primary QA point of contact for enterprise clients.
Lead/support client UAT cycles, issue triage, and release readiness discussions.
Prepare and present client-facing test summaries, release notes, UAT documentation, quality reports, and defect/risk summaries.
Handle quality-related escalations and communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Support enterprise audits and compliance reviews with appropriate testing evidence and documentation.
Qualifications
12+ years of QA/test engineering experience, including 4–5+ years in QA leadership or management.
Strong, current hands-on experience with Cucumber, Playwright, REST Assured, and/or Postman.
Strong experience testing Java/JAX-RS (Jersey) REST services and modern web applications.
Experience testing React and Angular based frontend applications.
Hands-on experience testing AWS serverless and data-processing architectures, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS Aurora, and EMR Serverless.
Strong SQL and relational database testing experience, preferably PostgreSQL/MySQL.
Experience with data pipelines and large-scale data-processing workflows.
Proven experience with Agile release management and CI/CD, using Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.
Experience working with enterprise SaaS and multi-tenant production environments, including testing tenant isolation, data integrity, configuration, and regression across shared platform services.
Demonstrated experience working directly with enterprise clients, including UAT, escalations, release communication, and quality reporting.
Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable remaining hands-on while leading a QA team in a fast-evolving product environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with headless SDKs or embedded/white-label client integrations.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar enterprise compliance frameworks.
Exposure to data engineering, analytics, or AI-driven enterprise products.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means establishing a predictable, automation-led quality process that materially improves product quality and release confidence.
Higher and more reliable automated test coverage.
Fewer escaped and recurring production defects.
Faster and more predictable release cycles.
Stronger quality gates and release discipline.
Reliable validation of application, serverless, and EMR Serverless data workflows.
Clear, evidence-based quality communication with engineering leadership and enterprise clients.
A strong QA team that operates with ownership, technical depth, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
